H2H InterActive Support Group | It’s All Good | Other people don’t understand

Hi all,Nirsara touched upon this subject in another post. I believe it is worthy of some discussion.Only people who have been abused can understand what it feels like. Only people who have been abused can understand the depth of damage it inflicts upon our sense of self-worth. It is so very easy for those who don’t know to say things like ‘Well, if I was you, I wouldn’t put up with that!’Not having been in our shoes, they still have their self-esteem in tact. They know exactly when the line has been crossed and are able to speak their mind about it. Abused people are afraid to speak up. We have learned there will be severe repercussions should we criticize our abuser in any way whatsoever. We are fearful, nervous wrecks who are terrified by the very thought a saying something to our abuser about the way they treat us. We want to say it, but we know they will instantly blow up into a rage, becoming a horrible, spiteful monster just because we dared to say… I don’t deserve to be treated like that.
