H2H InterActive Support Group | It’s All Good | Update from me

Hi All, Realised it has been a long time since I updated my H2H friends as to where things are at for me.My beloved SO has been out of his marital home since middle of the year and has 50:50 custody of his girls (Eldest aged 13, Youngest aged 10). Although there have been some pretty damn tough times, and still some to come, he is already making great strides in finding his own way of being both a good father and a good friend to himself. He attends a weekly mens group for support and still has terrific support from his friendsWe are still doing the LDR, with plans to meet twice next year (YAY!) The trip back home (I am a migrant worker) will be somewhat interesting as his STBX has found out about me and has started the smear campaign. Interestingly enough Eldest decided to confront her Dad with the things her Mom said and then asked to speak to me on the telephone to ask the questions she had from her Mom’s commments. She and I had chatted on the phone a few times before that, so I was aware of the way she thinks and could answer things honestly and in a way that a 13 year old would understand. By the end of the phonecall she said “So do you want to date my Dad?” I said “I would like to see if he and I can work together.” She said “I would like that too.” and I could thank her for her blessing!Youngest I think is more likley to struggle with all of this, but with Eldest on side, it will be easier. On my home/work front I had to deal with an attack from a pair of bullying individuals through work seeing myself and the department I work for as easy targets – it was a fairly torrid 4 weeks and I am finally starting to feel a bit more human after a very tired period of recovery. We won the battle, we think there are other skirmishes to be had…On the other plus side, I’ve managed to get some really healthy routines around work, hobbies, exercise going and I have lost most of the 14 pounds I put on when I first migrated to this country, with the change of food! So life is pretty good.Helen
